Grading Criteria & Requirements:

A. Homework problems: After we cover each section in class you will be given some exercises from the text. You are

expected to work through these problems and be ready to discuss them in the next class period, but they will not

     be collected or graded.

B. Quizzes: Periodically you will be given “take-home quizzes”; these assignments will be collected and graded. At the

end of the term the total of all your graded HW quizzes will count the same as two test scores.

C. Exams (Tests): You will be given in-class tests at the end of each chapter. You will have the full class period (or two

full class periods) to complete these tests.

D. Comprehensive Final Exam: The last class of the semester you will be given a comprehensive final exam overall

the material that we have covered. This will have the same value as two test scores.
E. Computation of Final Grade:
         6 Chapter Tests - (50%)
         10 Homework Quizzes – (30%)
         1 Comprehensive Final Exam - (20%)

I will not accept any late assignments without penalty.
You may be able to make arrangements to take a test only if there is prior knowledge of your absence.
